The Sloggle HUD is the power that drives your game play, and you need it to play the game.
Here is how you use the HUD to play:
◣ Once "BEGIN" is clicked, the 3 minute timer starts (You will see 'Ready...', 'Set..." and GO in chat)
◣ You have 3 minutes to make as many words as you can
◣ The letters on your HUD are used to make words (NOT on the table)
◣ Spell out the word correctly and in order
◣ When your word is fully spelled, click "SUBMIT WORD" on the HUD
◣ If you make a mistake, click "UNDO" on the HUD (top right corner)
◣ If your only mistake was the last letter, you can click it again to de-select it
◣ Only the last letter will allow you to de-select it
◣ You can only build your words with adjacent letters (See example below):

Example 1:

Using the example above, and the word CANISTER, you can see what is allowed. You MUST select the letters in the order spelled. You cannot, for example, click C then I, then A because the I is not adjacent to C. Also, when done, CIANSTER is not a word! As you can see, you could make words like: CANISTER, CAN, CANE, SIN, SINE, SINCE, TEN (just examples)
Example 2:

Letters can be on angles, as long as they are adjacent to the one you just selected. For example, above, you could make CANE, but you would not be able to make RENT because the T is not adjacent to the N.
Example 3:

You can go in any direction if it follows the adjacent rule. For example, in the diagram shown, you could make the word SINCE.
Example 4:

You cannot use the same letter in the same word more than once. For example, you could NOT make the word CANCER. Even though
all letters are adjacent, you would need to use the C twice, and this is not permitted.
EXCEPTION: Your last letter selected can be clicked again to de-select it in case you make a mistake, which allows you to click a different
letter instead of clicking UNDO and doing the whole word over. Only the LAST letter can be undone like this.
Example 5:

You CAN make a word that is NOT valid. For example RENAIS (english). You can SUBMIT WORD because all letters are adjacent. However, you will not receive any score for it when the round is over.

Game Details:

◣ DO NOT REMOVE THE HUD - doing so will remove you from the game, and wipe your score
◣ DO NOT STAND UP - doing so will remove you from the game, detach your HUD, and wipe your score
◣ If you are done playing, just stand up - I recommend you wait until the Best Of rounds are played
◣ If you sit down during an active round, you cannot join. You will need to stand and resit for the next round.
◣ Stopping play before the Best Of rounds are finished will cause you to lose your stats
◣ When the timer runs out, all valid words are scored
◣ The game will wait for the next round to begin
◣ Click "BEGIN" when all players are ready for the next round
◣ Play continues until you reach the Best Of round limit, or you decide to stop playing
◣ Best Of is set to 3 as the default (3 rounds to play before stats are given)
◣ On the last round, stats are displayed in local chat and sent to the web
◣ The winner is the person with the highest score in points at the end of the Best Of rounds
◣ Stats also include the number of valid words each player made (included on web)
◣ Stats on the web are updated usually within 48 hours, but could be up to a week
◣ To change the number of rounds in Best Of, click "MENU" on the table, then "Best Of"
◣ You can select 3, 5, or 10 rounds
◣ After the stats are displayed, clicking "BEGIN" resets scores and rounds, starting the next Best Of rounds
Sounds:

◣ There are just a few sounds in the table, and they CANNOT be turned off
◣ There are multiple sounds in the HUD, and you CAN turn those off
◣ On the HUD, click MENU (top left corner of hud) and choose a sound option
◣ If you see "No Sound", sounds are ON - clicking "No Sound" turns the sounds OFF
◣ If you see "Play Sound", sounds are OFF - clicking "Play Sound" turns the sounds ON
◣ ALL sounds in the HUD are affected - you cannot turn on/off individual sounds
◣ Turning off the sounds in the HUD is just silly! They make the game more fun! LOL
HUD Resize:

◣ Because some folks have visual impairments, a resize feature is in the HUD
◣ Click "MENU" (top left corner)
◣ Click "Resize" on the menu
◣ Choose a size option
◣ You can click RESTORE to put it back to regular size
◣ Click "Done" to close the menu
◣ This can be done during game play, but it WILL distract you :)
Poses:

◣ The stools contain multiple poses
◣ Click the stool seat (the round part you sit on) to get a menu
◣ You can click "Next" and "Prev" to cycle through the poses
◣ If you need to adjust your height (if you are floating), choose "Height"
◣ On the Height menu, you can "Increase" or "Decrease" your position while sitting
◣ Please note that it could drop you too low on first adjustment (due to avatar size)
◣ If that happens, re-adjust to the best position for your avatar
Quitting Play:

Note: Quitting causes your score to erase, along with any stats not yet reported (Best Of rounds completed)
◣ You can stand up. The HUD will be removed.
◣ You can click "Menu" then "Quit" on the HUD - the HUD will be removed.
◣ You can right click on the HUD and choose "Detach"
◣ You can right click on the HUD in inventory and choose "Detach from Yourself"
◣ You can log out of SL - logging back on with HUD attached causes it to reset - you cannot rejoin a game in progress
What dictionary is used?

◣ Sloggle©® uses an in-game dictionary that contains 269,384 words (ENGLISH).
◣ At the time of the last update (April 23, 2016), Sloggle©® comes in ENGLISH only
◣ If you make a foreign word that is spelled the same as an English word (for example: ANGLE = both French & English), it will be valid and scored
◣ If any word you make is not valid in the included English dictionary, it will NOT be scored
Why is there a letter QU?

◣ In the traditional version (RL), there is no Q on the tiles.
◣ There are few words in English that do not have a U following the Q
◣ Sloggle©® does not contain a single Q letter
◣ It woud be nearly impossible to find an adjacent U next to a Q when the puzzles are generated
◣ When you use the QU, you get credited with two letters used

How are words scored?

You get points for each valid word based on the word length as follows:
◣ 3 and 4 letter words: 1 point
◣ 5 letter words: 2 points
◣ 6 letter words: 3 points
◣ 7 letter words: 5 points
◣ 8 to 15 letter words: 11 points
In the traditional version (RL), if more than one player submits the same word, they get removed before scoring takes place. However, in Sloggle©, you get credit for ALL words you make, regardless if someone else had the same words.
BONUS Puzzle: If the puzzle played contains the words PLAY SLOGGLE TODAY (the main default one), all points above are tripled!
Please note that scoring and word checking is all done while you are playing to minimize the wait time at the end of the round for each player. It is generally very fast because of this, and most players will be ready for the next round pretty quickly and generally around the same time. However, please note that word checking by notecards is slow by nature due to SL limitations, and there COULD BE some delay while players' words are all validated, especially in heavy lag. Please be patient!!!

◣ You have 3 minutes, when the timer starts, to make words
◣ You cannot use the same letter more than once in the same word
◣ You cannot use the same word more than once in the same round
◣ You must select adjacent letters (explained below)
◣ You can make words from 3 to 15 letters in length
◣ You cannot make words of 1 or 2 letters, or more than 15 letters
◣ You can change the number of rounds (Best Of) before you begin AND between rounds
◣ If you change to a lower number of Best Of rounds between rounds, your scores will be reset and lost
◣ If you detach the HUD or stand up during a round, your score and stats will be lost
◣ If you wish to continue playing, you must LEAVE THE HUD ON and REMAIN SEATED
◣ All messages to YOU are private in chat (yellow), nobody else can see them
◣ Any messages that are GREEN in chat can be seen by everybody in a 20 meter range
◣ If you are having difficulty, check your local chat box!
